This might get incorrectly tagged as a pedalcyclist crash; earlier versions of media stories had the headline as “Bicyclist killed in hit-run…” it should be pedestrian according to the description. I will carry it as a not-bicyclist on the fatality spreadsheet.

Another fun fact: this is the second fatal hit-run in Phoenix in less than 24 hours.

… Officers made contact with the driver, 27-year-old Alberto Chilel Santos, and detained him. While in custody police say he showed signs of impairment.
A preliminary investigation revealed to police that Santos allegedly was traveling eastbound on Grandview Road when he veered into oncoming traffic, then onto a sidewalk where he hit Jimenez, who was standing next to his bicycle…
This is the second deadly hit-and-run crash in Phoenix late Saturday night into Sunday morning.
