8/31/2021 6pm hit and run driver kills bicyclist Mark Tohe in laveen (west Phoenix). Baseline road near 75th Ave. For whatever reason, police have released virtually no details. No descriptions… “Phoenix police said they are conducting an investigation into the incident and are looking for the driver, who fled before police arrived.”

  1. Dear sir,

Moon Valley, Phoenix has a well marked bike route with signs and striped lanes, but they are not signed as bike lanes. Far too many residents are parking their cars overnight in these lanes and it is dangerous for cyclists. One resident at 13651 N Canterbury, 85022 is a car dealer and parks five trucks in the bike route “lane” for weeks on end.

I’ve read many of your articles, blogs and links to AZ bike laws, but to no satisfaction as to whether the parking is a violation. It is inconsiderate to say the least. It seems in what I’ve read that bike routes are suggested routes with no legal teeth. There are signs along the Moon Valley route, but they don’t say “no parking’.

What can I do? Report it to our nearest police precinct?

    Thank you for listening.

    Stephen Hayes
