Friday April 10, 2015, early afternoon. Victim: Jameson Kennedy, 51/M. The driver told police “an animal ran out in front of him and the bicyclist on westbound McKellips Boulevard, causing the cyclist to swerve to the left. The driver swerved to the right, striking the cyclist from behind.”

The vehicle damage seems to be both on the left front corner and right side windshield indicating a very sharp swerve. The story seems to imply the animal wasn’t struck; i.e. the damage seen was due to striking the bicycle or bicyclist; though there seems to be minor damage also on the right front corner; though any of the damage could have been pre-existing.

It was mentioned on facebook the location on McKellips was between Ironwood and Meridian. This road in this area is one narrow lane in each direction w/no paved shoulder. I would have guessed this was Maricopa county, but it (just barely) in Pinal.

  1. I remember being in this crash like it was yesterday. It’s hard to believe it was over 6 years almost 7 years ago. I was that 6 year old daughter and I remembered being terrified. I’ve got scars from the windshield breaking. My grandparents just got that car back last year… it’s crazy how I remember all this at 12 years old…
