I found these two only because they appear in asdm data for 2015. I find nothing googling. Given the paucity of data and the profusion of UNKNOWNs these two appear to simply have the hit-and-run flag mis-coded?? These both have absolutely no location information, i.e. no streets, and no Lat/long.
It’s hard to understand how the data can be so shabby. There were a couple of these missing hit and run’s last year, too (two or three, depending on how you count; for more info, search on the tag missing-hit-and-run). That would mean that “official” counts of hit and run fatalities may be significantly undercounted because of poor reporting practices.
In 2015, according to the official ASDM statistics, only 3 (of 28 = 11%) fatal bicyclist incidents were hit-and-run; if two are in fact missing the percentage would actually be 18%
As time went on, FARS released 2015 with PBCAT crash typing, and these two are in fact listed as “unknown” — i.e. they are consistent with the asdm coding — which means the FARS anaylst read the crash report, such as it is, and (also) decided there was no way they could figure out what was going on.
