Today is Tuesday. In an important update to  the hit and run killing Sunday afternoon (in addition to a motorcylist seriously injured in separate hit-and-run!) — how are we just now learning that the “white car” is a white Tesla. That’s a lot more specific don’t you think?

Speeding Tesla hits and kills bicyclist in Phoenix before fleeing the scene

Phoenix police were looking for the driver of a speeding Tesla that hit a bicyclist who died… Around 3:04 p.m. Oct. 19, officers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian on a bike in the area of 19th Street and Osborn Road in Phoenix, according to police spokesperson Sgt. Jen Zak. William Gutierrez Castaneda, 43, was found with life-threatening injuries, and firefighters took him to the hospital where he later died.

The vehicle that hit Castaneda fled before officers arrived.

Preliminary information found that the driver of a white Tesla was going westbound at a high rate of speed and failed to stop, hitting the bicyclist who was crossing the road northbound in a marked crosswalk, according to Zak.

2025-10-19 8:45a near 7th Avenue and Bell Road, a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a red or maroon car. The driver fled the scene going westbound Bell.

2025-10-19 3:00p Osborn Road just east of 16th Street a white car collided with a bicyclist, killing him. The driver fled the scene. (On Tuesday, new reports say that police are looking for a white Tesla and its driver)

Both incidents are very light on the details.
