Car slams into bus stop, teen bystander killed

Another ped whacked on a Phoenix sidewalk — seriously, how often does this stuff happen? — this time at Glendale and Central Ave, Phoenix.   Austin Lipko-Benito was killed mid-day May 13, 2015 on the sidewalk along Glendale Ave. The crash occured because one of the drivers failed to yield to the other driver.

Note police have ruled out speed being a factor. hmm. These kinds of serious crashes can’t occur at anything other than the very high speeds that our arterial street systems not only find legal, but encourage.

The crash forced a commercial (pickup) truck hauling a trailer into a spin, a witness told police. The trailer then jumped the curb and slid into the bus stop and the teen Car slams into bus stop, teen bystander killed

A Ford pickup truck driven by a 19-year-old attempted to turn left onto Central Avenue from Glendale Avenue when it collided into another pickup truck driven by a 36-year-old man that was towing a trailer. The impact of the crash caused the trailer to rotate and hit the student who was waiting on the sidewalk along Glendale Avenue.  abc15.com

  1. Not that I am aware of, but that doesn’t necessarily mean anything because I haven’t really looked. To hunt it down you would need to request the report from Police records, which would have the driver’s name.
