Another Phoenix Ped killed on sidewalk

Police are seeking Rudy Loyoza Jr.

Oct 20, 2015 Pedestrian fatality. According to police, the driver was speeding (“at speeds over 100 mph”) and lost control, crossed the center line,  jumped curb and drove up on sidewalk; hit-and-run of course.  Yes, again, see another-ped-gets-whacked-on-phoenix-sidewalk. This obviously happens regularly…  Seriously, how often does this happen? Police are seeking Rudy Loyoza Jr., the owner of the vehicle, in connection with the incident.

…Sgt. Trent Crump, a Police Department spokesman, said the registered owner of the vehicle involved in the Oct. 20 crash has been identified as Rudy Loyoza Jr., 23. Crump said investigators have not been able to locate him. He is described as 5 feet 8 to 5 feet 9 inches and approximately 200 pounds. According to Crump, Loyoza is often seen in the area of 21st to 23rd avenues and Indian School Road… Around 11 p.m. Oct. 20, the driver of a 1985 Oldsmobile Cutlass lost control after accelerating north on 19th Avenue at speeds over 100 mph, Crump said… The vehicle crossed the center line and struck a pedestrian on the sidewalk. Darryl Wayne Hampton, 54, was killed instantly when the vehicle jumped the curb and struck him. The driver of the Cutlass abandoned the wrecked vehicle and fled the scene on foot, Crump said. The driver was last seen running east on Elm Street, he said.

Police ID driver in Apache Junction hit-and-run as Ricardo Redondo-Reyes; Kayla Mix seriously hurt

APACHE JUNCTION, AZ – Police have identified the hit and run driver who critically injured a 15-year-old girl. Kayla Mix is in the intensive-care unit at a Scottsdale hospital after being the victim of a hit-and-run in Apache Junction last month. Ricardo Reyes has been identified as the suspect that allegedly hit Kayla. Police say his car hit the teen as she was walking home from work, crossing Superstition Boulevard at Ironwood Drive. (“last month” so sometime in October 2015).
